Spring Break has arrived for kids and families around the country this month. Parents may find themselves looking for something fun and exciting to do with their family during this much-deserved break. Kansas City, KS has a variety of kid-friendly things to do that are sure to keep the whole gang entertained.

We have taken the guesswork out of planning and put together an itinerary of KCK activities that will keep the kids busy and stress-free for mom and dad.

Morning

Wyandotte County Lake

We recommend spending your morning getting to know a local bakery or coffee shop to power up for a day full of fun. Places like Mema’s Bakery on Leavenworth Road is a great place to start. They offer sweet and savory options you can enjoy before heading to some outdoor fun. Kansas weather can be unpredictable so always keep an indoor option in mind.

Cabela’s offers outdoor exploration inside and includes a freshwater aquarium, safari diorama, and large Mule Deer Country Museum at no cost! If the day is beautiful, you can head to Wyandotte County Lake Park and enjoy lake views and hiking trails.

Afternoon

Great Wolf Lodge NF 7

The afternoon is the perfect time to explore the Village West area that is home to a variety of shopping, entertainment, and dining options with a big portion of shopping located at the Legends Outlets Kansas City.  One of the premiere family experiences available in Village West is the Great Wolf Lodge. Even if you don’t stay there, you can still spend your afternoon splashing around their indoor waterpark complete with slides and pools by purchasing a Day Pass.

If you’re looking for a more adventurous experience, check out Zip KC the ultimate Kansas City zip line adventure. Soar high above the bluffs of the Kansas River on nine zip lines stretching over 5,800 feet! Afraid of heights? No problem! Try out their obstacle course.

Afternoon

Legends 14 Theatre

Once the sun sets, the Legends has a variety of family-friendly entertainment experiences that include food. Dave & Busters is a great place to get food and drinks while the family plays hundreds of awesome arcade games.  Or catch your favorite teams on one of their several big screens.

If your family enjoys making trips to the movies, AMC 14 DINE-IN theater offers 14-screens, recliner seating, IMAX, RealD 3D, food & drink bar, reserved seating, and an immersive experience. Don't forget to stop by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to take home some yummy chocolates and confections with you.
