Saturday's and Sunday's until January 15th, 2023

Beginning November 6th, the Olde World Christmas opens at Strawberry Hill Museum. Victorian-era decorations will adorn the mansion and the ethnic rooms will be filled with Christmas season “Olde World” traditions. 

In addition to our permanent ethnic exhibitors, there will be displays representing Ireland and African-American cultures. Additional space has also been added to display German, Italian, and Belgium traditions. There are also new items in the Gift Shop, so make sure you stop by after your tour and pick up those unusual gifts for your family and friends.

The Tea Room will also be open every weekend from 1 pm to 4 pm. Stop in and enjoy a bowl of soup, assorted quiches, homemade desserts, and a hot cup of tea either before or after your tour.

NightTime Tours - After a brief introduction in the Chapel, all will be divided into small groups to take a tour of the Victorian Mansion, Orphanage and Museum, ending in the Gift Shop for that last-minute shopping. The tours start promptly at 6 PM, always best to arrive 10 - 15 minutes early to see all the wonders in the Chapel. Tickets - $25 per person

NightTime Wine Tours - After a brief introduction in the Chapel we will move to the Tomasic Hall for our second annual ever wine tasting, each paired with an appetizer or dessert. After the tastings, there will be a tour of the Victorian Mansion, Orphanage, and Museum, ending in the Gift Shop for that last-minute shopping. 

NightTime Beer Tours - After a brief introduction in the Chapel we will move to the Tomasic Hall for our first ever beer tasting, each paired with an appetizer. After the tastings, there will be a tour of the Victorian Mansion, Orphanage, and Museum, ending in the Gift Shop for that last minute shopping. This event starts promptly at 6 pm, always best to arrive 10 - 15 minutes early to see all the wonders in the Chapel. Tickets - $50 per person

Dinner Tour: After a brief introduction in the Chapel we will move to the Tomasic Hall for a traditional ethnic dinner. You will dine on Sarma (Croatian cabbage roll), Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut, Hot German Potato Salad, Green Beans, Tossed Salad, dinner roll, and Povitica (Croatian nut bread) for dessert. Dinner will be accompanied by beverages. After dinner, small groups will take a tour of the house, orphanage, and museum. More information HERE. 

December 3rd - 5th and 10th -12th

A drive-thru wonderland of holiday lights and living nativity complete with camel, donkey, cow, goats, and sheep. Drive along the luminary-lit route and delight in seeing Farm Town, tractors, the barn, the train, and Christmas trees all dazzling with holiday lights.

Santa’s here! Share your wish list and get a free photo with Father Christmas himself! Please bring a camera or smartphone to take your photos at our Santa Experience. One of Santa’s helpers will be there to assist you, if needed, in getting family photos and encouraging smiles from those little ones!

Every Night except Christmas Day thru January 2, 2022

Huzzah! The village of Canterbury has been transformed into a bright and colorful light spectacle for the debut event, Knights of Lights! Enjoy a new Kansas City Renaissance Festival holiday tradition on this festive walking tour. Load up the whole family and be awed and amazed by fantastic scenes and lights! Join us on select days starting November 27-January 2 for larger-than-life experiences with dazzling lights aplenty!

December 1st - December 24th

Families who visit Santa receive a free 4x6 studio-quality photo, as well as a free digital video greeting card to share on social media. Additional photo packages are also available for purchase and print instantly in the store. During your visit, families can mail their letters to Santa and receive free giveaways while supplies last. Families can also enjoy the amazing aquariums and wildlife displays found in every Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s store.

December 1st - December 19th

Santa’s elves are teaming up with Legends Outlets again to make sure Santa receives your child’s wish list! Children are invited to drop their letters in Santa’s mailbox, which is headed for the North Pole (so no stamp is needed). Don’t forget to include a return address so Santa can write back! Santa’s mailbox is located near the AMC entrance and will remain available until Sunday, Dec. 19. If you don’t have a letter and your child is interested in writing to Santa, templates are available at Books-A-Million and the Legends Outlets management office.

Stop by the Legendary Tree located in front of AMC for a festive photo and catch it lit up after dark!

Friday, November 18th

Given the ongoing impact of COVID-19 in our community, the 2022 Lighting Festival will be structured similarly to last year's event.  Activities will start at 4:00 PM on November 18th on and around City Hall Plaza at the Unified Government office building at 7th and Barnett. Families can do a "drive-through" Santa visit, during which we will be able to distribute nearly 1,000 gift bags to local youth. Santa will be present to greet every guest that participates, and the plaza itself will be decorated in the traditional fashion.

Saturday, December 4th

St. Nicholas has included us in his flight plan and will be arriving Saturday, December 4th from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. A $10 fee will include breakfast for a child, a visit with St. Nicholas, and one picture. If your child wishes to only visit St. Nicholas for the picture, the fee is only $5.00. An adult breakfast will be available for $6.00. Breakfast will consist of pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, and coffee, tea, or milk.

Saturday, November 26th and Sunday, November 27th

Come and build your own box of Christmas Greenery-- 8 kinds of Evergreen, Boxwood, Holly, Magnolia Leaves, Pinecones, and Acorns. Make a wreath, swag, or decorate your mantle. Also available: Bows, Holiday Gifts, and Holiday Treats. Box of greens weighing 5-6 pounds will be $35-$42 which is $7 per pound. To make an evergreen swag for your front door will be a base fee of $15 and per piece for an item added including a bow. There will also be pre-made wreaths you can decorate. They range from $20-$40. We will have Christmas gifts available as well as lots of holiday sweet treats. We will be making donuts and serving hot cider.
