The Community Engagement Manager leads the development and execution of all community relations activities for Visit Kansas City, Kansas. This role is responsible for planning and directing initiatives to raise awareness, grow support, and increase investment with Visit KCK among tourism, community, and industry stakeholders. The manager oversees partner and community-based events and initiatives and manages all partner communication channels and information.

Key responsibilities include:
Partnership & Stakeholder Relations
- Establish, nurture, and maintain strong working relationships with key partners and stakeholders, including tourism businesses, neighborhood groups, and community organizations.
- Proactively seek out new partnership opportunities and develop creative, mission-appropriate sponsorship and paid-partnership programs to increase investment in the organization.
- Serve as the primary liaison for industry partnership meetings, including WYCO Museums, Village West, etc.
- Attend community events to establish and maintain Visit KCK's presence and visibility.
- Conduct regular meetings with partners to understand their goals and needs and align them with Visit KCK's strategic plan and marketing initiatives.
Communications & Engagement
- Oversee communications with partners and community stakeholders to keep them informed on Visit KCK news and initiatives.
- Develop and send all partner email communications, including Industry E-Blasts and Extranet updates.
- Manage and maintain partner accounts within the CRM to ensure accurate data and effective engagement tracking.
Event & Program Management
- Plan and coordinate partner and community events, such as quarterly networking and educational sessions.
- Oversee community initiatives and special events.
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in partnership management, community relations or a related sales role. Experience in the tourism or non-profit sector is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated competence in project management and stakeholder relations, with excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a professional, proactive manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and competency with electronic data entry and information management.
- General knowledge of the Kansas City, KS, and KC metro area is required.
Additional Considerations
- Demonstrated ability to engage with and build relationships across Kansas City, Kansas's multicultural and multi-ethnic communities.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred and considered a valuable asset for serving our community.
