The 'KCK Taco Trail' maps out the best places for local, authentic tacos.  

Visit Kansas City Kansas is announcing the extension of the 'KCK Taco Trail', a mapped-out trail of nearly 60 local taquerias. In March 2021, Forbes Online named Kansas City, Kansas, the Taco Capital of the United States. Nearly four years later, the KCK Taco Trail has seen over 28,664 restaurant check-ins and awarded 1,507 prizes to trail participants, with 122 people completing the trail. With 52 weeks in a year and 60 plus Taco spots on the iconic KCK Taco Trail, there is a new spot for every Taco Tuesday. The KCK Taco Trail gives the community a flavor-filled experience of culture and history through food.   

To celebrate its extension, there are three ways to join in the celebrations:  

  • Taco enthusiasts can earn double points on Cinco (5) de Mayo. During this day, they will find a Bonus Check-In option when they log on.   

  • You can win a pair of VIP tickets to Tacos & Tequila on June 21 at Legends Field by entering an upcoming Instagram Giveaway. Stay tuned to our channels. 

  • Join the Visit KCK Team for a Scavenger Hunt across the Taco Trail on Cinco De Mayo to win five pairs of GA tickets to Tacos & Tequila on June 21 at Legends Field. Stay tuned to our channels.    

The trail, which first debuted in October 2020, highlights over 60 taquerias in Kansas City, KS. It helps locals and tourists find the best places for local, authentic tacos and offers chances to win prizes along the way.  To participate, taco enthusiasts can visit www.kcktacotrail.com to sign up for the KCK Taco Trail. The trail will map out where to find all kinds of tacos and give diners the chance to win prizes. Unlock prizes by eating tacos and checking in at restaurants. Here's how it works:  

  • Step 1 – Get Your Pass  

  • This mobile exclusive passport is a curated restaurant collection where you can enjoy KCK's best tacos.  

  • Step 2 – Receive Text  

  • Your passport will be instantly delivered to your phone via text and email and will be ready to use immediately. There is no app to download. Your pass can be saved to your phone's home screen for easy one-tap access.  

  • Step 3 – Redeem  

  • When visiting a participating business, open your pass and check in to earn points. Points earn prizes such as T-shirts, tortilla warmers, decals, and more!  

The KCK Taco Trail is ongoing. However, participants have until December 31, 2026, to complete the trail and win prizes. Foodies can eat tacos and get rewarded. If you have points, then you have more time to stack points. If you haven't started your journey on the trail, now is the time to start.
