The University of Kansas Medical Center is the region’s premier academic medical center. Here the institution trains future healthcare leaders and conducts renowned research through the KU Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and various Health Professions. Connected to KU Med you will find the University of Kansas Hospital where patients are provided with second-to-none medical care by compassionate and world-class professionals.

KU Med Center also houses the Clendening History of Medicine Museum. Visitors of the museum can explore the late 19th and early 20th century medicine, along with a growing collection dedicated to Civil War, Ancient World medicine, and more through fascinating documents and artifacts.

The railroads were a vital part of the Argentine and Armourdale neighborhoods, drawing many families from Mexico, making it one of the first Hispanic communities to form in the late 1880s.  If you find yourself hungry in the area you've got more than one authentic Mexican restaurant to choose from.  Grab a taco or two from San Antonio, or pick up a half chicken or whole chicken grilled to perfection at El Pollo Rey - the options are endless.
