One of the region's largest farmers markets, City Market is a feast for all of the senses. Summer weekends are the busiest, although the market is open year-round. Hundreds of stalls feature locally grown produce and herbs, as well as eggs, dairy, meat, baked goods, artisan crafts and more. Be sure to stroll through the shops around the perimeter of the market, too. The global selection features groceries and cuisine from the Middle East, Italy, India, Brazil and New Orleans.
Since its inception in 1857, the City Market has been one of the largest and most enduring public farmers’ markets in the Midwest, linking growers and small businesses to the Kansas City community. More than 30 full-time merchants are open year-round and offer specialty foods, fresh meats, restaurants, floral, home accessories, apparel, services and much more.
