  • Kevin Willmott, who has won film festival awards at Sundance and Cannes, will conduct a free workshop especially designed for aspiring young filmmakers and also for anyone who has an interest in independent films. He is a professor of film and media studies at the University of Kansas at Lawrence. Learn how his research on the life of William Allen White, the famous Emporia editor, discovered interesting parallels of many issues that remain today. White's editorial "What's the Matter with Kansas," written in 1896, drew national attention.
