The American progressive rock band Coheed & Cambria consists of band members Claudio Sanchez, Travis Stever, Josh Eppard and Zach Cooper. Formed in Nyack, New York, in 1995, all but one of Coheed & Cambria's recordings has been conceptually based on Sanchez's sci-fi storyline, "The Armory Wars." Now, after the release of their latest album, Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures, Coheed & Cambria hits the road on a national tour, including a Kansas City engagement at Starlight Theatre Tuesday, June 18.
Joining Coheed & Cambria on tour is the heavy metal band Mastodon. Formed in 2000 in Atlanta, Mastodon's 2002 debut album, Remission, quickly garnered critical acclaim for its unique sound. With seven studio albums and numerous other releases in its repertoire, Mastodon has been nominated for five Grammy Awards and won the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the song "Sultan's Curse" from their latest album, Emperor of Sand.
