This is Friends of Kaw Point Park's first email newsletter to let you know about our gardening/cleanup dates for 2021. With a stormwater education grant from the Unified Government (UG) we were able to remove invasive bush honeysuckle and dead wood from the area between the boat ramp and amphitheater and plant over 2000 native plants. We are looking forward to seeing what comes up this spring. Several years ago we also established rain gardens with a grant from the UG. So, as well as cleaning up the park we have a lot of gardening to maintain.
Saturday, March 27, 9 to noon - We will be doing a cleanup and working on the rain gardens and will plant the 200 trees in April! Hope you can make it!
