The Kansas City Renaissance Festival
Huzzah! Let’s head to the Ren Fest! Every weekend September 5th– October 18th, the Kansas City Renaissance Festival excites the city with fairies, knights, mermaids and of course, The King and Queen. This storybook re-creation of a 16th century English village is filled with artisan booths, free kids games and activities, henna tattoos, turkey legs, and live entertainment! Cheer on your favorite knight –in-shining-armor as you watch live jousting, learn how to belly dance, and marvel at magic acts, light tricks, jugglers and the Soul Fire Dancers.
The 2015 season will introduce the Wizard’s Flight School Zip Line, Queen’s Tea, Kid’s Quest and a craft beer pub and daily tastings. Each magical weekend has a different theme centered on everything from fall and romance, to pets and pirates!
Cider Hill Family Orchard
Pumpkins and apples are true staples of fall, and Cider Hill Family Orchard is just the place to pick your own! The 38-acres of family fun – goodness is filled with 1300 apple trees, a pumpkin patch, fishing ponds and plenty of space for picnics and playtime. Delicious donuts, cider, kettle corn and more treats are also available for purchase.
The beautiful orchard is the perfect place for fall family photos, and the spacious event barn and guest house are available to rent for birthday parties, baby showers, a girlfriend getaway or whatever reason you have to celebrate.
2015 Village West Wine Fest
Wine, food, beer, fireworks – this annual event prides itself on being “the greatest party KC has seen.” Held at Schlitterbahn Waterpark, the 2015 Village West Wine Fest Wine Walk will feature samples of more than 200 wines and 30 of the finest restaurants in Kansas City. Beer lovers can enjoy tasting more than 100 types of craft beer in the Rogers Liquor Beer Garden.
